Green Happenings at Wolfe's

Hello and thank you for your interests in the "Think Green Movement".

Here at Wolfe's Leisure Time Campground we have been thinking Green for many years. Some of the projects we have completed are:

We have installed Hot Water on Demand units to service of our structures:
    Public Bathrooms
    Main Residence House
    Rental House

The hot water on demand units conserve propane to which our water is heated.

We have used water saver shower heads since 1997 to reduce the amount of water used in our showers. We have also installed water saver toilets in our restrooms along with the houses. Again, water consumption was the purpose since we are service by multiple septic systems.

All of the decks we have created use a toxic free additive for preservation. The arsenic free materials will last for years, thus reducing the need for replacement.

Our lighting utilizes Fluorescent bulbs where ever possible, thus reducing the amount of energy required to light our facility.

We have encouraged the use of Aluminum cans which are recycled when placed in one of the many "can" barrels available to our guests.

We encourage our campers to help us with the preservation of plant life on our property including trees. We have also been planting trees to replace dying trees on the premises.

Many of our drainage has been designed to filter drainage water crossing our property. It's important to our rivers and streams for cleaner water from their contributories.

During the warmer months we have used Home-Made Bio fuel in our Bobcat Skid Steer Loader This not only recycles used cooking oil it also helps us reduce our fuel costs in maintaining the property and performing upgrades to our facility.

We are working with campers to reduce their electrical usage while upgrading our electrical service eliminating electrical loss through older wiring. (The campground has been completely rewired since 1997)

We constantly look for new ways to protect our environment and reduce operating costs to keep our rates economical for our camping guests..

YOUR HELP IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED.

The Wolfe's
